Dačice Town Museum and Gallery

“From 1 July 2025 onwards, the museum in Dačice resounds with shots of cannon and fanfares.” This is how reports of most media and podcasts dedicated to the state-of-the-art museum presentation of the town of Dačice, now freshly opened, begin. Across the exhibition, which we developed and produced based on our own design, there are also plenty of numerous other attractive features and interactive elements, whether mechanical or digital. As visitors explore the area, they can discover everything it has to offer, whether by studying each of the thematic sections focusing on the natural world, distant and recent history, major personalities, crafts, and comparisons between rural and city life, or just having fun. In the gallery, local painters are presented to fine art enthusiasts. Here, the main part is dedicated to Max Švabinský and his graphic works, complete with exhibits as well as audio recordings conveying his confessions about his life journey. In the very first days, we noticed visitors‘ feedback, particularly appreciating the means of expression employed to bring the visual exhibition to life. In addition to the sound and visual effects, the mapping on a model of the town and the possibility of digital browsing through the Gradual, the physical form of which is on display under glass in a showcase, were highlighted. People were also intrigued by the mechanical gaming devices and the many drawers in which the collection items are hidden, as well as by the various things to play with or touch.
